Lifestyle: My daily pick-me-up.

With lifestyle being part of my blog, I thought it was necessary to share what I do on a daily basis. Between working two jobs and going to school full time, I have found that I am constantly running out of energy. There is always something I need to do and one of those things is a pick-me-up. I need it to help me get through the rest of my day or to even be able to wake me up in the morning. Much of my resources for a pick-me-up are Redbulls and the infamous White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks (I always get a triple venti, meaning huge drink with three shots of espresso). I know what you are all thinking, "How has she not have had a heart attack yet", yet I need it! If you have any suggestions on a healthier pick-me-up, PLEASE SHARE! I am sure all this sugar I consume isn't healthy for me.

The best and unhealthiest drink is yet to be discussed. My daily supply of caffeine comes from three daily shots of Cuban Coffee. Talk about unhealthy!!! If you have not had it, don't try it!! It's addicting.. I can' get enough. I do this everyday in the morning. It's a routine of mine that I cannot live without. If you watch the Kardashians, maybe you have seen the episode of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami where Khloe goes on a hunt for it in the streets of Miami. Yes, it is that addicting! One shot is enough to give you the perfect pick-me-up. I have been drinking Cuban coffee for years!!! The one shot isn't enough for me.. I need 3! As unhealthy as it can be, I have a hard time finding anything that works anywhere as good as this little shot of heaven.

After watching this episode of the Kardashian, I actually felt normal for having this addiction to Cuban coffee.

Here are some step by step instructions of how to make this delicious shot of coffee :).

  1.     Fill bottom espresso maker with water. Fill it just enough to hit the pressure plug on the side of the espresso maker. This is also seen inside. Fill up the water just under that point.
    2)      Put the metal filter on top of the bottom container. Fill it with CafĂ© Bustelo coffee ground. Make sure it is compacted.
    3)      Screw the top of the espresso maker and place it on top of the stove over high heat.
    4)      Put six teaspoons of sugar on measuring container and wait for the first little bit of espresso to brew. Use the first bit that fills the bottom of coffee maker. This is when the coffee is at its thickest consistency and what will make the foam.
    5)      Pour the first little bit of coffee onto the sugar.
    6)      Stir vigorously and let the rest of the coffee brew.
    7)      Keep stirring. Stir until the mixture has a paste like texture and the color gets lighter. This process is called caramelizing the sugar.
    8)      When coffee is done brewing, pour in it on top of caramelized sugar and stir slowly.
    9)      Foam is made; pour it onto your little cup. Enjoy!

Pretty Little Liars Reaction!

If you are friends with me on Facebook, you have probably seen my posts about Pretty Little Liars. Aside from it being my favorite show on the planet, it's my guiltiest pleasure. I love it!!! The story line always keeps me on my toes and just when I think I have it all figured out, something absurd happens.  I am completely addicted to this show!

Not only am I in love with the story line, but the makeup and the styling on this show is to die for! Aria's look has always been my favorite. She always has some random piece of clothing that I would have never thought of pairing it with what she is wearing on the episode. Her style is just so... out there! I love it!!! If you are not familiar with this show... WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! I can't imagine life without PLL. During the season break, I was literally dying inside. I couldn't be happier than it is back :). I will not go over details about the events that took place on the episode because I don't want to spoil it for those who have not gotten the chance to see it yet. I will tell you that I was freaking out the whole time! A is a tricky little person and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for the liars next.

Concealing redness in skin.

Ever wonder how to cover those annoying red blotches on your face? Well, first steps is to neutralize your skin. An easy way to find the right concealer to use is to use the color wheel! Your probably thinking, "Huh?!". Before applying foundation, you must first neutralize your face. To neutralize any color on your skin, you need to use the color that is opposite of it on the color wheel. For example, green is the opposite color for red. You must used green in order to neutralize the redness on your skin. Use a green concealer! After applying green to the problem areas, apply your foundation. You will then notice that the redness is gone and so is the green! Your face should be completely the same color. To conceal dark circles under your eyes, you should opt for a concealer with a yellow undertone. This will help neutralize those purple bags under the eyes. It's very simple. As weird as it may sound, the color wheel should definitely be a part of your makeup collection. It often comes in handy.

See? It's easy as 1, 2, 3!

Here is a video on the previous information I had posted about brushes. This will help to understand the differences a little better!

Home Decor Obsession!

Lately, I have found myself browsing the Home Decor section on Pinterest. Actually, I can spend hours on Pinterest getting inspired with ideas on how I want to decorate my new home. In a couple of months, I will be moving AGAIN! While I am hating the thought of boxing everything and moving, I am looking forward to the beautiful new place and how I will make it my sanctuary. After looking at what appears to be millions of pictures, I have decided that I gravitate towards a light color scheme. I have been looking a light gray with with white and bronze. It's weird to me that just looking at a space with those colors makes me feel right at home. I would like to know, how do you decorate to make you feel at home?

Pursuit of Happiness.

My passion for makeup began at a very early age. Growing up I spent a lot of my time in front of the mirror and different color shadows which I loved playing with. Most of what I know about makeup, has come from experimenting with it for hours and hours. I have always known that when I grew up, I wanted to do something with makeup. One of the main reasons why I decided to pursue a career in fashion is because it goes hand in hand with makeup. I can honestly say that I couldn't be happier with the path I have chosen to take. Not only has it opened the door to the fashion industry, but I have also gotten the chance to explore my love for makeup during various photo shoots. This is just the beginning and I cannot wait to see what the future holds ahead. Never give up on your dreams; do what truly makes you happy.

I want to LIVE, not just survive.

I feel like I have been doing a lot of surviving lately, and not much living. Between work and school, I have rarely found time to do what I want to do. It makes me wonder, will I ever get the chance to live? Lately, I feel like all I do is work, and stay up all night working and playing catch up with school. Not because it's been my choice, but simply because when I get home I am exhausted! This post is for those who feel the same way as I do. How about we promise ourselves to take some time out of our busy lives and LIVE! Tomorrow isn't promised. Let's stop trying so hard to survive, and let's live our lives :). Have a great day!
